Byron Galindo Ornelas.

Biologist graduated from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, FES Iztacala. He obtained his bachelor's degree at the Arbovirus and Hemorrhagic Virus Laboratory of the Epidemiological Diagnosis and Reference Institute, where he conducted genotyping studies of the four Dengue Virus serotypes in the Mexican Republic.

In 2020, he joined the Research and Development team, where he focused on the development of useful molecular tools in response to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. Simultaneously, he worked on updating and standardizing molecular diagnostic kits for febrile, respiratory, and gastrointestinal diseases of public health relevance.

He is currently part of the scientific staff of ITRASIG, where he carries out genomic surveillance of emerging diseases. In addition, it actively participates in the development of tools for the care of contagious and non-contagious diseases of social importance, contributing fundamental opinions in science and grounded within the epidemiological needs of the country.
